American professional boxer, Floyd Mayweather, has kicked against the high rate of divorce across the world, stressing that the reason is due to lack of trust in a relationship.
Sharing the details behind his singlehood, the 45-year-old boxer, took to his Instagram page, where he shared that his major reason for staying away from marriage is trust.
The wealthy boxer maintained that he has nothing against married people, but he’d rather stick to his personal belief.
He wrote: “Everybody always ask me when am i getting married or why am i not married. I am not married for the same reason the divorce rate is so high. The only person i will trust is myself. Therefore, it eliminates disappointments.”
“I have nothing against people who are married, these are just my personal beliefs. What are your thoughts on marriage?”
The American boxing promoter (Mayweather) currently owns a team in the NASCAR Cup Series named The Money Team Racing.
As a professional boxer he competed between 1996 and 2017, retiring with an undefeated record and winning 15 major world championships from super featherweight to light middleweight.
This includes the Ring magazine title in five weight classes and the lineal championship in four weight classes (twice at welterweight).
As an amateur boxer, he won a bronze medal in the featherweight division at the 1996 Olympics, three U.S. Golden Gloves championships (at light flyweight, flyweight, and featherweight), and the U.S. national championship at featherweight.
