- By PROMISE UDEH
The Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Labour Party Candidate for House of Representatives, Chief Amobi Ogah have lent his voice to Peter Obi’s call for Nigerians to take back their country from the clutches of bad leadership, insecurity, hunger, greed and wastefulness as echoed by the later during a Town Hall meeting hosted by Channels News yesterday.
In an interactive session today, 9th January, 2023, Amobi Ogah noted that with Nigeria’s poverty index at 0.257, and about 133 million out of about 200 million people being multi-dimensionally poor, the country is literally sitting on a time bomb of self destruction if Nigerians fail to save the country with their PVC by retiring career politicians and electing the Labour Party whose manifesto reflects the yearnings of Nigeria.
He affirmed that, between 2018 and 2020, about 21.4 percent of Nigerians experienced hunger as a result of insecurity, unemployment and other catastrophy and Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency was not exempted. Amobi Ogah also explained that unemployment, fear, insecurity, politicians greed and hunger have become a normal way of living in his Federal constituency, Isuikwuato/Umunneochi.
He stressed that despite the hardship suffered by indigents in his constituency, the deafening silence by so called elected leaders in the constituency have reaffirmed his resolve to become a voice of hope at the National Assembly. He reaffirmed that when elected as a Member of the Federal House of Representatives, he will give Mr Peter Obi all legislative support needed to engender good governance at all levels.
