HON. AMOBI OGAH’s MESSAGE ON INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY.
By: Promise Udeh
On behalf of the people of Isuikwuato / Umuunneochi Federal Constituency, I wish to felicitate with our mothers, wives and sisters on the occasion of the International Women’s Day, 2023, which the United Nations themed: “DigitALL: Innovation and technology for gender equality“.
No doubt, the role of women in national development cannot be overemphasized. However, despite their pivotal role, certain sociocultural practices, including poor access to quality education and technology, the glass ceiling which limits their capacity to reach their God given potentials and other barriers have remained inimical to them.
As your Rep-elect, I share the burden of our mothers and need to empower them with the right legislative bills, socio-economic and non-economic support in the areas of formal education, skill acquisition and agricultural support and scholarships which will conduce for self reliance and common prosperity
I wish to reiterate that the challenges of gender disparity, rural poverty as well as social and economic problems of women in Isuikwuato/Umunneochi LGAs will receive topmost priority under our representation at the National Assembly. Hence, our mothers, wives and sisters will not only remain key stakeholders in the implementation of several policies and programs, their challenges will remain a burning desire in my heart, this is my promise. Happy women’s day
