The list of the Top 5 Nigerians who impressed this weekend does not include Kelvin Akpoguma, who played for his club in their loss to Bayern Munich on Saturday.

5. Ola Aina
In Sunday’s Serie A match, Torino defeated Udinese 2-1, and Ola Aina scored his first goal for the team. Isaac Success, a fellow Nigerian who played for Udinese, was replaced after 65 minutes. The Super Eagles player who was on target for Torino helped has helped his team win two straight games after defeating Cittadella 4-0 at home in the Coppa Italia.
4. William Troost-Ekong
Sunday’s Championship game saw Watford defeat Luton Town 4-0, with goals from William Troost-Ekong among them. The last time the Super Eagles defender scored for Watford was in a 3-2 Championship victory at home against Coventry on November 7, 2020. After 45 minutes, the Nigerian international made it 2-0 with a close-range shot after Davis had nodded down a Joo Pedro cross.
3. Taiwo Awoniyi
After scoring the lone goal in Nottingham Forest’s 1-0 victory over his former team Liverpool at home, Taiwo Awoniyi was honoured as the game’s Man of the Match. After voting by club supporters, Awoniyi was named the best player on Forest’s Twitter account.
2. Paul Onuachu
In their Sunday Belgian Pro League match, Genk defeated Royal Antwerp 3-1 thanks to Paul Onuachu’s second consecutive hat trick. Genk’s first goal came from Bryan Hayden in the 13th minute. Twenty minutes later, Onuachu doubled the Smurfs’ lead.
1. Victor Osimhen
In Sunday’s Serie A match, Napoli defeated AS Roma 1-0 huge kudos to a brilliant late goal from Victor Osimhen, maintaining their dominance at the top of the log. Osimhen outworked Chris Smalling with 10 minutes remaining in the game before slamming the ball past the Roma goalkeeper from a tight angle.
